Game Design, Gamification, Learning Design and Assorted Other Strangeness

The Visitor

This is a nice four skills activity.

The teacher begins the class by telling a story about how the met an alien last night. Concluding with the Phrase and I wanted to ask the alien……

The students in groups then brainstorm questions that they could ask an alien. The teacher shares some ideas on the board. Then the class answers the questions that the teacher has on the board. Finally the students answer their own questions and write as a team about their alien. The teacher can then put the answers up for a gallery style share and review.

Linguistically this exercise is a great way to get students to revise both questions and answers and to push themselves to be creative with the language.

As always enjoy although only just over a week into this challenge it is already starting to get tiring.

Well 8 days down another 23 to go.
